Bio-Identical Hormones

What are Bio-Identical Hormones?

Bio Identical Hormones are hormones that are chemically compounded to look identical to what the body produces; thus, the body should not know whether it is getting it from itself or an outside source. Just because the hormone was derived from plants does not make it bio-identical. Horse's urine (i.e., Premarin) or plant sources may be "natural" but are bio-identical only to horses and plants, not humans. Bio-identical hormones react totally different in the body than synthetic chemicals that are not bio-identical.
